Our chef
Maribel Corcho, head chef and owner of Taste of the Caribbean, brings years of expertise and her grandma’s cherished recipes to share with everyone. A self-professed foodie, Maribel has a passion for high-quality food and entertaining.
This love affair led her to co-own a dinner and dance club in Etobicoke, which became a resounding success. However, as the venture started taking over their lives, Maribel and her partner decided to dissolve the partnership and sell the business. They both transitioned back to a calmer lifestyle and pursued different ventures.
For Maribel, this meant returning to the corporate world, where she held senior roles in various organizations and industries. Concurrently, she owned and operated a small business support company, serving clients who were owners of diverse food establishments. This experience kept her well-informed about the industry.
She never gave up on her dream of sharing her grandma's recipes and her love for entertaining. The pandemic presented the perfect opportunity for Maribel to open a local gathering place where food, family, fun, and music come together to create a home away from home.
